Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Parade
Monday, January 17, 2011
The 2010 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday is approaching. The theme, “Remember! Celebrate! Act! A Day On, Not A Day
Off” symbolizes the importance of remembering Dr. King’s work and legacy. This day is dedicated to focusing on his
teachings, principles of nonviolence and human rights. This is a day to celebrate and participate in community programs
promoting interracial cooperation, not just a day off from work or school.
The Camden County King Free Foundation would like to invite you, your congregation and/or civic group to participate
in the Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebrations planned for January 18, 2010. These events are dedicated to Dr.
King’s memory, philosophy and great strides he made for people of all color in the fight for equal rights.
There will be a Unity March and a celebration program on Monday, January 18, 2010 at 10 am. The march will begin at
First African Missionary Baptist Church in downtown Kingsland and end at the Lions Field.
All donations, fees and proceeds raised for the Camden County King Free Foundation will go towards the cost of program
activities, speakers, and supporting our community.
All are invited to participate regardless of race or religion.
